Playroom Educator

Permanent part-time opportunity for Diploma qualified Educators

20 hours / week

4 days / week 10 am 2.00 pm may include some weekends days to be confirmed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Playroom Educator in the Ngala Residential Parenting Service (NRPS) you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver child-focused educational and play-based activities for children aged 06 years.

This role is central to supporting each childs learning and development while fostering strong caregiverchild relationships.

You will take primary responsibility for independently managing the playroom ensuring it remains a safe welcoming and engaging environment. This includes designing and facilitating both structured and spontaneous activities tailored to the needs of families participating in Ngalas Residential Parenting Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain a safe secure and supportive environment for children families and team members at all times.
  2. Develop and deliver high-quality age-appropriate play activities for children aged 06 that foster developmental growth and strengthen caregiverchild relationships.
  3. Support and guide parents in understanding the importance of play for meeting their childs emotional social and developmental needs.
  4. Maintain a welcoming organised and engaging playroom environment including managing supplies ensuring cleanliness and creating a space that encourages exploration and joy.
  5. Build and maintain strong positive relationships with families children and the Service team.
  6. Actively contribute to delivering the Service and business plans.
  7. Contribute to a professional and positive work culture.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You are passionate about childrens learning and development. You will have:

  • Diploma in Children Services / Early Childhood Education and Care (or an ACECQA approved equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the development and learning of children 0-6 years old
  • Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS)
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and self-learning to achieve the best outcomes for children
  • High level of verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.

The successful candidate will need to hold a current WA drivers licence and satisfactory National Police Clearance obtained within the last six months and possess a working with childrens check.

As part of our commitment to being a Child Safe organisation successful candidates are required to provide their Immunisation History Statement.

While immunisations are highly encouraged they are not mandatory. This information will help us assess and implement appropriate safety measures for everyone.
