NEEDED: Nurse Practitioner
LOCATION: 741-925 Herlong Access Rd. A-25 Herlong CA 96113
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of California or Nevada.
- Must have 1-2 years of family medicine experience or 1-2 years of urgent care experience.
- Must hold at minimum Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) and stay current with certification.
- Providing proof of credentials (education current licensor/status competency continuing medical education etc.).
JOB DESCRIPTION: Shall be responsible for but is not limited to:
- Provide diagnostic therapeutic and preventive health care services for the inmate population.
- Conduct medical histories examine patients order and interpret laboratory tests x-ray and other diagnostic testing.
- Diagnosis and treat patients in an efficient timely and professional manner provide treatment plans and prescribe medications utilizing the Bureau of Prisons formulary.
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing splinting and immobilizing
- Attend to medical emergencies
- Record progress notes recommend clinically necessary outside consultation instruct and counsel and order or carry out therapy
- Emergency consultation to be performed by the contractor in instances where deemed necessary. Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning instituting evaluating and revising program plans
- Assist in determining conditions resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical emotional or mental problems
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick calls which may include securing health histories from the patient recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
- Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician
