Position Summary
As an Intermediate Accountant at Argent Tax & Advisory youll play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. Youll be preparing financial statements tax returns and providing practical support that helps clients move forward with confidence.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys public practice values balance and wants to develop their skills in a calm well-structured environment without the pressure and politics of a large firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements for a range of clients ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Assist with the preparation and lodgement of individual company trust and partnership tax returns
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and regulations
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines in a planned and sustainable way
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Systems & Technology (desirable but not essential)

The firm is transitioning to Karbon so prior Karbon experience is highly desirable.
Skills & Experience
- 24 years experience in Australian public practice accounting
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Solid interest in building efficiencies and not confirming to the status quo
- Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured environment
- A genuine interest in growing with a small firm and contributing to its success Collaboration is a must!
