The role comprises management of people and their work within the Test Equipment (TE) Sustainment team to provide engineering support for TE in the Production and Aftermarket value streams. Responsible for the sustainment of all TE within your value stream/s managing your team to deliver on complex technical TE repairs obsolescence management corrective action resolution and refresh planning to drive continuous improvement. You will manage people impact approaches projects and programs to drive quality efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Full people management including timesheets holidays priorities performance and development. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy requiring high levels of operational judgment.

You will demonstrate great people leadership skills manage Resource Supply and Demand needs drive Test Equipment Sustainment and aftermarket activities and be responsible for Test Equipment performance to meet Site on Time Delivery targets.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Test Equipment Sustainment Engineers including timesheets holiday priorities performance and development.
• Manage team delivery and performance including task planning budget management and be a first point of contact for technical escalations
• Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• Responsible for addressing all reliability and yield related projects within your value streams to enhance performance of Test Equipment after the transition to Supply Chain ownership
• Provide/facilitate the provision of technical advice to both the TE Sustainment team and Test Systems New Product Integration team
• Provide lessons learned and contribute technically into new projects
• Responsible for maintaining updating & the release of test equipment design documentation
• Scoping and progressing longer term solutions including re-designs to remove obsolescence
• Own Long-term planning and funding for all legacy equipment including technical refresh working alongside NPI Eng.
• Ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations standards and company processes
• Manage the transition from NPI to production taking ownership of design and performance.
• Proactively drive FLIGHTDECK within your team.
• Responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of allocated Lab Space
• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews (including external customer led reviews)
• Provide timely communications on significant issues (risks and opportunities)
• Adhere to Quality Management Systems processes and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

• Batchelors degree/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline
• Technical leadership experience
• Project Management skills
• Experience with configuration/change management tools
• Hardware/Software integration experience
• Experience mentoring less experience engineers and people leaders
• Excellent communication skills to team peers and all levels of management
• Experience utilising and applying GE FLIGHTDECK or similar Continuous Improvement tools/methodologies

• NPI process knowledge/experience
• Test Systems Sustainment process knowledge/experience
• Familiar with highly regulated Safety and Quality Management Systems
• Good people skills and a firm interest in developing engineers
• Project Management qualification of alternative.
