Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

The Buyer is responsible for executing day-to-day purchasing and replenishment activities that support Food & Beverage operations across Universal Destinations & Experiences. The role is focused on transactional procurement execution supplier coordination and system accuracy within established sourcing strategies contracts and operating parameters. Operating under the direction of the Planning Manager and Senior Buyer the Buyer ensures accurate and timely purchase order execution and resolves routine procurement issues. The position supports high-volume operational purchasing for Orlando-based parks and venues with additional support for other destinations as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Replenishment & Order Execution: Executes daily purchase orders in accordance with min/max levels system-generated recommendations and operational requirements. The role reviews ordering outputs for accuracy monitors delivery schedules and lead times and ensures products are ordered and released on time. Any discrepancies abnormal usage or potential service risks are identified and elevated to the Senior Buyer or Planning Manager.
  • Procurement Operations & Data Accuracy: Maintains accurate SKU- and vendor-level data in procurement systems including pricing pack sizes units of measure vendor codes and ordering constraints. The role supports item setup updates SKU changes and routine data maintenance as directed and assists with resolution of invoice discrepancies by coordinating with Accounts Payable Warehouse and suppliers when issues relate to purchase order execution or data accuracy.
  • Supplier Coordination: Serves as the primary day-to-day contact for suppliers regarding order status delivery timing confirmations shortages and substitutions. The role tracks supplier responses follows up on open order issues and escalates recurring service failures late deliveries or quality concerns to the Senior Buyer for further action.
  • Inventory and Transaction Support: Supports inventory health by ensuring procurement-related system attributes such as lead times order multiples and pallet quantities remain accurate. The role assists with product transitions including SKU replacements or pack-size changes under the direction of the Senior Buyer or Planning Manager and coordinates with Warehouse partners to resolve routine receiving discrepancies.
  • Cross Functional and Administrative Support: Communicates item updates discontinued products and routine procurement information to Culinary and Operations partners as directed. The role maintains documentation related to purchasing activity supplier communication and system updates and provides timely service-oriented responses to internal stakeholders within defined role scope.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree preferred in Supply Chain Business Hospitality or related field
  • Bachelors degree a plus but not required
  • ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience required preferably in food and beverage hospitality distribution or another high-volume operational environment.
  • Food & Beverage hospitality distribution or warehouse-supported procurement experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • This role operates in a complex high-volume and fast-paced environment with competing priorities across multiple time zones. Requires strong organizational discipline clear communication and comfort working in a highly structured data-driven procurement environment.
  • Ability to execute high-volume procurement transactions with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of ERP purchasing systems and item master data maintenance.
  • Ability to review and validate system-generated purchase recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage daily ordering cycles in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for routine supplier and internal partner interactions.
  • Basic problem-solving skills related to data discrepancies order issues and receiving variances.
