OVERVIEW

The Promise vision is to fulfill the promise that God sets the lonely into families (Psalm 68:6). Promise mobilizes church communities in order to meet three goals: (1) Prevent children from coming into the foster care system. (2) Intervene when children enter the system. (3) Connect children and families when children are in need of a permanent home. The Promise model hinges on developing strong Family Advocacy Ministries (FAMs) in local churches to accomplish this work. The Promise staff works diligently to guide these FAMs to success and to give them the best resources available to maximize impact.


POSITION SUMMARY

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and executing Creative Team logistical needs. These needs revolve around mailings for on-demand clinics and FAM Basics periodic logistics requests for events fulfilling store orders and material requests from members of the Promise Network across the country. This is a part-time position of up to 30 hours per month (5-7 hours/week) working on either Mondays/Thursdays or Tuesdays /Thursdays. They will report to the Curriculum Director and work closely with the VP of Creative Resources.


Mailings for Monthly Clinics

  • Prepare welcome folders by printing all necessary documents for each type of online course.
  • Assemble packets to be shipped to registrants of on-demand courses. Packets typically include training handbooks welcome folders and other small promotional items but contents may change from time-to-time.
  • Review lists of registrants and ship packages bi-weekly so that items are received within the approved timeframe.
  • Provide tracking information or status updates as requested.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels to advise when additional items need to be ordered.

Periodic Logistics Requests

  • Process and fulfill orders for other materials from the Promise store twice a week.
  • Assist with assembling and shipping materials for major events both local and remote.
  • Provide tracking information or status updates as requested.
  • Work with the Creative Team to ensure all stakeholders are receiving materials in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to achieve organizational objectives.

  • Able to respond rapidly to requests with clear and quick communication
  • Must be available on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning to process last minute orders and complete the weekly shipping.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Promise inventory is stored in the Home Office located in Peachtree Corners. This position is not required to have regular office hours but rather to consistently monitor incoming requests and fulfill them before the deadline. As long as timing and fulfillment expectations are met this position can work with a great degree of autonomy.
  • Consistent shipping of materials occurs weekly either Thursday late afternoon or Friday morning.
  • Weekly hours will usually be between 5 and 7 hours.
  • Valid drivers license and active up-to-date liability insurance.
