Welfare Department:
The Welfare Team is central to the emotional social and mental wellbeing of students. As the Welfare Officer you will work closely with the Pastoral Leader SENCO safeguarding team tutors and external agencies to provide early intervention and support for students facing emotional behavioural or social difficulties.

The welfare hub is a dedicated space where students can access one-to-one conversations mentoring sessions emotional support and targeted interventions. The department works proactively to prevent concerns from escalating and to ensure that every child feels heard valued and supported.

Key responsibilities include:
Providing emotional and pastoral support to students on a daily basis.
Offering early intervention strategies to help students manage anxiety social issues behaviour concerns or wellbeing challenges.
Maintaining accurate welfare records in line with safeguarding protocols.
Working with external agencies such as CAMHS social services and counselling providers.
Supporting attendance and behaviour teams where needed.
Running wellbeing workshops or small groups focused on resilience emotional regulation and social skills.
Communicating regularly with parents carers and staff.
Promoting a culture of openness safety and student empowerment.

Requirements:
Experience working with young people in a pastoral wellbeing or safeguarding capacity.
Strong communication and empathy skills.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided).
Ability to remain calm compassionate and professional under pressure.
Strong record-keeping and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
A sincere commitment to student wellbeing and inclusion.
