Job Summary
We are working with a friendly community primary school in Enfield to appoint a reliable School Caretaker for an immediate start. This is a full-time temporary-to-permanent role that is essential for the smooth daily operation of the school. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the security of the site including the daily opening and closing of the premises. The split-shift pattern ensures the school is ready for the morning intake and securely locked after evening clubs. Duties include general DIY repairs reactive maintenance and overseeing health and safety checks such as water hygiene and fire alarm testing. You will also manage external contractors and ensure the playground is clear of hazards.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in caretaking or a trade-based background (plumbing carpentry or painting).
Availability: Ability to commit to a split shift (7am-1pm & 2.30pm-6.30pm).
Compliance: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK; the school cannot offer sponsorship. A valid enhanced DBS is essential.
