In this pivotal role you will work closely with the Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations optimize workflows and ensure the highest standards of quality for our flagship NIPT and genomic portfolios. We are looking for a born leader with a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for process optimization who can bridge the gap between technical excellence and operational efficiency.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Workflow Coordination: Oversee and coordinate the entire laboratory process ensuring seamless end-to-end execution of NGS workflows.
- Process Optimization: Continuously develop and refine laboratory protocols to increase efficiency reduce turnaround times and maintain superior quality.
- Technology & Tech Transfer: Assist in coordinating technology transfers and implementing new genomic platforms within the facility.
- Digital Integration (LIMS): Collaborate on the development and optimization of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to align with logistics and reporting needs.
- Resource Management: Manage laboratory inventory conduct resource planning and lead negotiations with material suppliers to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the laboratory and departments such as IT Logistics and R&D maintaining clear daily communication with international stakeholders.
- Quality & Troubleshooting: Take a proactive lead in troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring all laboratory activities meet stringent regulatory and internal standards.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Higher education degree (. . or Ph.D.) in Biotechnology Biochemistry Biology Medicine or a related Life Sciences field.
- Experience: Proven experience in a laboratory management or senior supervisory role specifically within an NGS-focused environment.
- Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and molecular biology laboratory workflows.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor a technical team while maintaining the independence to interact with executive stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting skills are a must; you should be someone who thrives on solving complex operational and technical challenges.
- Language: Proficiency in English is mandatory for collaboration with our HQ in Ljubljana. Fluency in Swedish is highly beneficial for local operations.
