Functional Job Description
THIS POSITION MUST LIVE AND WORK IN PONCA CITY OR SURROUNDING AREA. It is the responsibility of the Director of Family Services to supervise and direct all employees who work with the families and youth associated with Marlands Place. The director will manage and oversee the performance of all services provided to clients of Marlands Place. Additionally they are responsible for all direct child welfare programs and activities which are designed to assist in the growth and development of the youth.
Qualifications
The Director of Family Services must have the following qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Education: Masters Degree in Social Work or related field with 5 years of leadership experience in child welfare field (preferred). A Bachelors degree in a mental health treatment-related field such as social work psychology human relations psychological track behavioral science child development counseling or alcohol/drug studies and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing direct services to children and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges is required.
  • Required compliance with ethical practices and continuing education requirements;
  • A valid drivers license with a clean driving record; and
  • The ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Manage and oversee Marlands Place Foster Care contract.
  2. Provide supervision and direction to foster care staff.
  3. Attend DHS OKCare and contracted agency meetings and act as Marlands Place liaison with leadership.
  4. Mange the Foster Care budget and recommend changes or additions.
  5. Maintain program compliance for DHS licensing and DHS Child Welfare Contracts.
  6. Provide leadership and guidance to a growing program.
  7. Review and develop ongoing systems as the program expands and grows.
  8. Evaluate new opportunities and strategically plan for implantation.
  9. Review and approve new foster family home studies as well as yearly reassessments.
  10. Provide direct oversight to the foster care program including trainings recruitment retention policy and supervision of staff.
  11. Address information requests from prospective foster parents and follow up with the request.
  12. Certify new foster families
  13. Responsible for overall compliance of foster families and family/child files with regulatory standards.
  14. Participate in recruitment and ongoing support of foster families.
  15. Coordinate respite program for assigned foster families.
  16. Responsible for placement activities in the absence of Family Specialist.
  17. Helps resolve disputes between foster parent and agency.
  18. Conducts internal audits according to agency quality assurance standards.
  19. Compiles reports of audit deficiencies for the review of the CEO.
  20. Performs all duties within contract state and federal regulations and Marlands Place policy.
  21. Tracks foster family training records to ensure each family complies with annual requirements.
  22. Provides training for potential foster families.
  23. Documents staff training attendance.
  24. Reviews training records quarterly to ensure employees are up-to-date on required trainings.
  25. Completes staff evaluations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  26. Mentors/Coaches staff demonstrating subpar performance.
  27. Recognizes staff demonstrating exceptional performance.
  28. Serves as liaison to organizations with whom Marlands Place contracts as a foster care child-placing agency.
Technology Duties
  1. Serve as an administrator for the Marlands Place Facebook pages; creates and publishes Facebook posts. Communicates with community members who make inquiries and with other contacts to the page.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to learn additional software.
Other Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Attends staff meetings.
  2. Attends training sessions.
  3. Supports administrative services by answering telephones and greeting visitors.
  4. Assists tenants in ensuring their needs are met.
  5. Seeks and helps implement new ways to fulfill the mission(s) of Marlands Place.
  6. Participates in various fundraisers and other events for Marlands Place.
  7. Represents Marlands Place in the community and helps educate the public about the organizations mission(s).
  8. Maintains availability to Marlands Place Chief Executive Officer and acts at his/her direction.
  9. Performs all other duties/responsibilities as directed by the Chief Executive Officer and/or his/her direct supervisor.

Compensation
  • Staring salary $60000 considering degree and experience
  • 120 hours of PTO annually
  • 15 paid holidays
