Job Summary

Job Summary (List Format): Neuro Interventional Radiologic Technologist (VIR Tech)

- Assist Neuro Interventional Radiologist with diagnostic and interventional neurovascular procedures.
- Function as scrub assistant during invasive procedures.
- Operate maintain and troubleshoot angiographic fluoroscopy ultrasound and CT equipment for both diagnostic and interventional uses.
- Maintain and manage inventory of 1500 products in the lab.
- Perform and assist with a variety of neurointerventional surgical procedures including:
- Cerebral aneurysm coiling
- Avascular malformation treatments
- Stroke interventions
- Angioplasty carotid and cerebral angiography
- Spinal arteriography discogram stent placement vertebroplasty thrombolysis/thrombectomy and embolization
- Participate in oncology procedures such as organ biopsies chemo embolization and Y-90 Radiopharmaceutical Therapies.
- Support additional procedures including uterine artery embolization venous lysis of tumors infusion pump placements/revisions radiofrequency ablation and peripheral vascular interventions (lysis and clot removal).
- Assist in training permanent staff particularly in neurological studies and procedures.
- Comply with department protocols and safety standards including radiation protection.
- Participate in a high-volume department performing over 20000 procedures annually.
- Rotate training and work locations including initial training at Riverside and monthly floating to Grant.
- Work 4x10-hour shifts (0700-1730) including every other holiday call every 3rd weekend and 1-2 nights per week.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years experience as a radiologic technologist specifically with neuro experience.
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- Registered with ARRT and hold (or pending) Ohio Radiologic License.
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy exposure positioning physics and medical terminology.
- Willingness to assist with staff training and adapt to multiple hospital locations.
