Job Summary (List Format) Pathologists Assistant
- Prepare grossly describe and dissect surgical pathology specimens under the direction of pathologists.
- Perform postmortem examinations as directed by medical staff.
- Ensure accurate collection labeling and handling of all specimens.
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative to schedule organize and plan daily work tasks.
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability including willingness to work additional hours or shifts in emergencies.
- Work efficiently accurately and with sustained concentration even under stressful conditions.
- Utilize and maintain knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and relevant laboratory instruments.
- Adhere to hospital and laboratory missions goals and objectives in all duties.
- Meet strict compliance with certification requirements: (PA)ASCP required; no equivalent certifications accepted.
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pathology Assistant required.
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred.
- Must provide work history skills checklist and at least one supervisory reference from the past two years.
- Must have a permanent address and personal vehicle for commuting.
- Must disclose all requested time off at the time of profile submission; no more than 5 days of RTO accepted.
- No schedule accommodations or special requests post submission will be considered.
- No weekend or on-call requirements; holiday coverage may be required.
- Orientation is 8 hours (non-billable).
