Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Perform close-tolerance drilling reaming removal and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas

  • Locate blind holes for installation of new structural items on existing structures

  • Conduct sealing painting shimming and preservation of structures per standard repair processes

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings technical orders process specifications and retrofit requirements for structural modification/repair

  • Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts

  • Apply knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair and replacement

  • Perform aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems

  • Utilize aircraft-specific tools such as torque wrenches dial indicators micrometers cable tensiometers sheet metal brakes and shears and test equipment

  • Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests

  • Maintain required certifications licenses and permits

  • Ascend/descend vertical ladders work in confined spaces and lift loads up to 35 pounds

  • Ensure safe working environment using Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems

  • Assist team members (General Mechanics Avionics Electronics) to meet cost/schedule targets

  • Pass assessment at the end of the training cycle

  • Comply with SA Site Tool and FOD procedures

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 4 years working with non-porous metals (aluminum titanium stainless steel)

  • 4 years interpreting schematics specifications assembly drawings and SOPs

  • 4 years using structures hand tools (drills pancake adapters countersink cages hole finders rivet guns)

  • 4 years working with heavy structures (doublers stringers webs seat tracks etc.) on aircraft

  • Ability to work variable shifts including scheduled/unscheduled overtime weekends and holidays

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance

  • Experience with titanium aircraft structures

  • Ability to operate forklift mobile crane or riding-type electric elevating equipment
