Qualifying Questions:

Summary:
-
Perform close-tolerance drilling reaming removal and installation on critical support structures and fracture-critical areas
-
Locate blind holes for installation of new structural items on existing structures
-
Conduct sealing painting shimming and preservation of structures per standard repair processes
-
Read and interpret engineering drawings technical orders process specifications and retrofit requirements for structural modification/repair
-
Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts
-
Apply knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair and replacement
-
Perform aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair assess functionality of non-complex electrical systems
-
Utilize aircraft-specific tools such as torque wrenches dial indicators micrometers cable tensiometers sheet metal brakes and shears and test equipment
-
Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests
-
Maintain required certifications licenses and permits
-
Ascend/descend vertical ladders work in confined spaces and lift loads up to 35 pounds
-
Ensure safe working environment using Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems
-
Assist team members (General Mechanics Avionics Electronics) to meet cost/schedule targets
-
Pass assessment at the end of the training cycle
-
Comply with SA Site Tool and FOD procedures
Requirements:
-
High School Diploma or GED required
-
4 years working with non-porous metals (aluminum titanium stainless steel)
-
4 years interpreting schematics specifications assembly drawings and SOPs
-
4 years using structures hand tools (drills pancake adapters countersink cages hole finders rivet guns)
-
4 years working with heavy structures (doublers stringers webs seat tracks etc.) on aircraft
-
Ability to work variable shifts including scheduled/unscheduled overtime weekends and holidays
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in aircraft heavy maintenance
-
Experience with titanium aircraft structures
-
Ability to operate forklift mobile crane or riding-type electric elevating equipment
