RAHI is a unique six-week college prep program at UAF that helps rural and Alaska Native students explore higher education earn college credits and participate in enriching activities. As an Overnight Safety Coordinator youll play a key role in creating a safe welcoming dorm environment for students living on campus. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the safety of both students and staff conducting regular dorm patrols and responding to emergencies as needed. Youll also have the chance to provide mentorship support student community-building and help students navigate any challenges they may face. To thrive as an Overnight Safety Coordinator you should be a night owl with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to balance safety with a supportive community-driven approach. An understanding of safety protocols and the ability to effectively communicate and enforce them is essential along with the capacity to stay calm and composed during emergencies. You should be proactive in mentoring students resolving conflicts and fostering a positive living environment. A commitment to student successboth academically and personallyis key as is the ability to provide reliable transportation when needed. This position is ideal for someone ready to step into a leadership role and make a meaningful difference in the lives of rural and Alaska Native students.
The Overnight Safety Coordinator works under the general direction of the RAHI Dorm Director and is required to be available on-call.
This is a night shift position. Working hours vary between 9pm-10am.
Minimum Qualifications:
Drivers license and ability to demonstrate 3 years of clean driving record with no felony arrest or felony conviction
High School graduate or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Position Details:
This position is located on the Troth Yeddha Campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time non-exempt temporary staff position. New hires will be placed on theUA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule Grade 77 based on education and provide a resume cover letter and three professional references including previous supervisors.
