Vascular Surgeon (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Vascular Surgeon provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for patients with diseases of the arterial venous and lymphatic systems. This role includes evaluation diagnosis operative and non-operative management of vascular conditions and perioperative care working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease aneurysmal disease carotid artery disease venous disorders and dialysis access needs
- Perform open and endovascular vascular surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges
- Provide non-operative management of vascular conditions including medical therapy and surveillance
- Manage perioperative and postoperative care including complications and long-term follow-up
- Participate in emergency and on-call coverage for vascular surgery services
- Interpret diagnostic studies including vascular ultrasound CT angiography MR angiography and angiography
- Collaborate with cardiology interventional radiology nephrology wound care primary care and other specialties
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses treatment options risks and expected outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and care planning meetings
- Maintain accurate timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement patient safety and outcomes initiatives
- Supervise and educate residents fellows advanced practice providers and trainees as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory accreditation and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program
- Completion of an accredited vascular surgery fellowship or integrated vascular surgery residency
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Vascular Surgery
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility

Work Environment
- Hospital operating rooms endovascular suites outpatient clinics and inpatient units
- Call coverage including nights weekends and holidays as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina for operative cases
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care
Requirements
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota depending on the location of the practice to which they are assigned
