Qualifications:
1. BachelorsDegree from an accredited college or university.
2. A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed in area of assignment.
- Must be Highly Qualified by CDEs standards in Special Education.
- Endorsed in Special Education
- OR -
- PLACE Special Education Generalist exam
- Endorsement must be Special Education
- Applicants with a BA (or higher - in ANY area)AND who are in (or willing to be in) and a Special Educationprogram are eligible to apply
- Can be enrolled in a TEE or Alternative Licensure program
3. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate.

Technical Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
oral and written communications.
2. Advanced interpersonal skills.
3. Advanced time management problem solving and analytical skills.
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
5. Knowledge and use of instructional theories models of practice principles and evidence-based practice related to special education.
6. Knowledge of the federal state local legislation regulations policies and procedures that mandate and guide special education.

Salary:
Certified salary is based upon degree status and years of experience. Horizontal advancements are based upon Graduate level credits and staff development hours obtained after the last degree was conferred.

Salary Schedule

One year of credit will be provided for each year of approved outside teaching experience.
