Job Summary

Summary

The Compliance Specialist supports the Legal and Compliance Team through administrative analytical and compliance-focused activities across sustainability product safety and responsible sourcing programs related to Buckles core business processes. The primary focus of this role is supporting the companys goals related to responsible product sourcing while ensuring compliance with related regulatory obligations. The Specialist must be able to work independently prioritize multiple projects and communicate professionally with Buckle Teammates and external partners.

Environmental Data Collection

  • Gather validate and maintain data required for state-mandated greenhouse gas emission calculations.
  • Support collection of data for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation.
  • Administer surveys and compile environmental impact and compliance data.

Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate submission of product compliance documentation from vendors.
  • Assist in reviewing documentation to verify compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Generate organize and maintain reports related to product safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct vendor follow-up to ensure compliance expectations are met.

Vendor Onboarding & Responsible Sourcing

  • Coordinate submission and assist in review of vendor social compliance audit documentation.
  • Manage or assist with vendor onboarding and compliance follow-up.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding compliance updates respond to vendor inquiries and educate vendors on processes expectations and available compliance resources.
  • Support vendor scorecarding including grading and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare organize and analyze reports related to vendor and upstream supplier compliance.
  • Assist in reviewing raw material traceability (RMT) documentation.

General

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in product compliance databases.
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital files and records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams providing status updates and escalating risks or blockers.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and demonstrate high levels of guest service in alignment with the company mission.
  • Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree required preferably in Business Administration Environmental Science Supply Chain Management or Data Analytics. Proficiency in Word Excel and Outlook. Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven organization analytical time-management and project-management abilities and prior experience in a corporate administrative or office environment preferred.
