Job Summary

Description

Reporting to the Fleet Supplies Managerthe post holder will be responsible for overseeingthe supply of vehicle spare parts for all West Midlands Police vehicles. (Various manufacturers / Plant i.e. generators / motorcycles & commercials.

At short notice you may be asked to work outside normal working hours to assist with on-going force operations.

Key responsibilities:

Supply parts for all Police miscellaneous emergency equipment. Inc Tents Lighting straps and winches
Supply all Livery for Police Vehicles
Supply spare parts for Police trailers
Supply of blue light emergency equipment for conversion and repairs
Liaise with suppliers / Reps on parts
Checking stock deliveries against invoices and certify receipt
Processing of invoices and credit notes
Supply and monitor of Technician / Workshop tools
Driving duties when required / parts Collection &vehicle collection
Collate information when required for obsolete stock
Best value awareness price comparison sheet
Raising of orders onto IT IPROC system
Booking of parts out on to Job cards and updating IT (Tranman) systems
Matching Tranman to Job Card on completion of Job
Checking / Testing and re issuing part worn stock
Warranty claim / surcharge parts and paperwork
Undertake stock checks at specified periods during the year.
Use a Fleet Management IT system (Tranman)

Essential Skills:

Working knowledge of Microsoft products
Experience of working on their own initiative and within a team environment
Experience of working with all levels of management
Experience of working in partnership with external supplier
Experience of using a Fleet Management System/Parts supply System
Ability to use external parts catalogues
Proven experience in negotiation processes would be an advantage
Minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualification in maths and English

Proven verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organisation

Desirable Skills:

Understanding of stock levels would be an advantage
Knowledge of COSHH would be an advantage
Knowledge of stock taking procedures would be an advantage.
Proven experience in prioritisation workload would be an advantage
Knowledge of vehicles and vehicle parts would be an advantage
