Orthopedic Surgeon Joint Replacement (MD/DO)
Position Summary
The Orthopedic Joint Replacement Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the hip knee and other major joints. This role focuses on primary and revision joint arthroplasty perioperative management and long-term functional outcomes working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with degenerative joint disease arthritis and joint-related musculoskeletal conditions
- Perform primary and revision joint replacement procedures including hip and knee arthroplasty consistent with training and privileges
- Utilize minimally invasive robotic-assisted or advanced surgical techniques as appropriate
- Provide non-operative management including injections physical therapy planning and medical optimization
- Manage perioperative and postoperative care including complications and recovery planning
- Participate in emergency and on-call orthopedic coverage as required
- Interpret diagnostic studies including X-rays CT scans MRI and other imaging
- Collaborate with anesthesiology hospitalists physical therapy nursing and case management teams
- Educate patients regarding diagnosis treatment options surgical risks and expected outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in quality improvement patient safety and outcomes initiatives
- Supervise and educate residents fellows advanced practice providers or trainees as applicable
- Comply with all regulatory accreditation and professional standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program
- Fellowship training in adult reconstruction or joint replacement surgery
- Board-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery
- Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
- DEA registration or eligibility

- Hospital operating rooms outpatient clinics ambulatory surgery centers and inpatient units
- Call coverage including nights weekends and holidays as required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures
- Manual dexterity and physical stamina for operative cases
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care
Requirements
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned.
