Are you a practical selfsufficient Operator who enjoys working independently across a wide and varied region

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Kalgoorlie team where you will play a vital role in maintaining water quality across a vast and critical network.

Think of it like this when a pipe bursts at home you call a plumber. But when it happens underground on your street its Water Corporation Civil Operators who keeps the taps flowing for everyone!

As a Civil Operator you are more than a tradie you are a key part of your community.

Work outdoors and tackle meaningful work every day from digging trenches to restoring burst mains and supporting asset repairs across the Goldfields.

What Youll Be Doing

This role is a unique blend of Civil Operator duties and support for a Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson. Your work will include:

Safely planning and contributing to daily job discussions and site inspections.

Prioritising safety in every task working with a zeroharm mindset.

Operating maintaining monitoring and repairing water and wastewater infrastructure.

Participating in an oncall roster and being available for overtime when required.

Completing chlorine cylinder changes at pump stations including hazardous gas handling using breathing apparatus. (Full training of National Water Package Cert III provided.)

Using specialist tools plant and equipment for operation and maintenance tasks.

Assisting with fabrication and maintenance of Water Corporation assets.

Bolting and unbolting pipe fittings structures and components.

Travelling throughout the region with a Welder/Fabrication Tradesperson including regular onsite work along the Golden Pipeline.

Supporting field safety requirements including helping manage safe work environments for the welder.

This role suits someone who:

Has strong problemsolving skills and a practical mindset.

Enjoys working in a small supportive team while being comfortable working independently.

Can quickly familiarise themselves with regional layouts pump stations and pipeline networks.

Is flexible and comfortable working both on-site and in workshop environments.

Holds a valid WA C Class drivers licence (HR licence desirable).

Key skills and experience

  • WA C Class drivers licence (minimum) HR Class desirable.
  • Experience in civil work and/or water supply systems.
  • Certificate III in National Water Package (or willingness to undertake the traineeship).
