Nemours is hiring for a Well-being Specialist.
The Well-being Specialist supports Nemours Childrens Health Associate Well-being initiatives to cultivate an environment conducive to optimizing the experience of providing exceptional care with a focus on creatinganddelivering programming that helps mitigate the drivers of burnout and compassion fatigue while improving emotional health of associates. The position serves as content expert for individual and group-based interventions to support emotional well-being address emotional distress and enhance coping skills of all associates while also developing and implementing systems responses to predictable sources of workplace individual selected for this position will provide organizational team and individual well-being guidance and programming including health promotion mentalemotionaland behavioral Nemours Well-being Specialist develops distributes and evaluates educational content and psychosocial interventions related to well-being with an emphasis on providing planned and on-demand practical and applied programming for all position interacts with all levels of the organization. Essential Functions:

The Well-being Specialist will maintain a regular on-site presence to meet individual and group level needs both acutely and on-going specifically this will include:
Develop relationships and identify
Establish trusting relationships with associates while providing general support and encouragement
Promote role and accessibility through outreach education rounding
Identify gaps in associate support
Conduct one-on-one consultations with associates to determine need and plans for action
Providing Individual and Group Interventions
Participate in peer support programs and well-being rounds
Provide brief evidence-based cognitive-behavioral interventions
Provide crisis response to those affected by adverse events (e.g. debriefs)
Provide well-being consultation for associates
Instruct teams on Stress First-Aid and implementation techniques
Serve as a Resource Liaison
Provide consultative support to associates seeking referral to appropriate behavioral health providers including education about most efficient and effective use of behavioral health resources
Facilitate accessto existing behavioral health and wellness resources (EAP community providers)
Develop and maintain referral relationships with community-based behavioral health providers to decrease barriers to securing timely psychological and psychiatric support for associates
Work with hospital directors and managers to increase associate awareness of resources understand staff well-being concerns and support as appropriate
Developand maintain arepository of community resources appropriate to the needs of associates
Continuously expand knowledge and understanding of healthcare well-being interventions and resources community resources services and programs provided to best meet staff needs
Maintain close collaboration with the peer support program manager other regional peer support program directors and other well-being team members to align on strategy education policy and procedure
Organizational: The Well-being Specialist will support interventions at the organizational level
Represent Nemours Associate Well-being at various orientation and well-being events
Organize responses and programs for organizational mental health initiatives
Provide consultative support resources and training to managers/ directors and leaders
Travel when requested to additional Nemours Childrens locations to provide on-site support to associates and managers/leaders
Support Nemours Associate Well-being team initiatives:The Well-being Specialist will join a team dedicated to a holistic approach to promote associate well-being encompassing individual and systems level interventions evaluation research and contributions to the literature
Partner with well-being team in identifying and evaluating environmental risk factors for burnout recommending modifications when necessary
Participate in quality improvement and research projects and development of well-being programs
Provide education and well-being programming for associates
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and department/unit leaders in the collection analysis and evaluation of well-being data
Attend regular staff meetings trainings and other meetings as requested
Assist with special projects as needed
Program Administration and Documentation
Track program expenses and maintain program budget
Track interventions and outcomes
Competitive candidates will possess excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work independently prioritize problem-solve and use time efficiently in alignment with program candidates will have experience in healthcare settings and awareness of the unique emotional and mental health needs and challenges among healthcare personnel.
