MISSION STATEMENT

To be the nations most citizen oriented efficiently administered state tax agency.

The Montana Department of Revenue administers nearly 40 state taxes oversees property appraisals and regulates alcohol cannabis and unclaimed property programs. The Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division enforces regulatory laws distributes distilled spirits and promotes responsible use of alcohol and cannabis.

DUTIES

Job Overview:

This position resides in the Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division of Department of Revenue. The Distribution Warehouse Unit Manager manages 13 staff who process order fulfillment functions and day-to-day operations of the liquor distribution warehouse for the Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division. The incumbent plans and implements unit programs to meet the needs goals and objectives of the division and department; provides technical assistance to internal/external stakeholders; implements special projects; and oversees facility related upkeep and equipment maintenance. The position reports to the Liquor Distribution Bureau Chief and supervises warehouse unit staff.

Special Requirements

Eligibility for employment will be subject to the following:

Working Conditions

Work hours may exceed 40 hours from time to time including weekends.

Office environment.

Lifting is infrequent less than 75 pounds.

May need to physically climb equipment with the use of a harness should the ASRS become disabled.

Some travel may be required must have a valid drivers license.

REMOTE/TELEWORK: This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite; however the successful candidate must be a primary resident of Montana as a condition of employment. This position would be required to report to the Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisors approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program. Full-time teleworking is not available.

Training Assignment:This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.

Special Information: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. A valid drivers license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months.

Eligibility to Work: In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act the person selected must produce within three days of hire documents that show authorization to work in the United States. Examples of such documentation include a birth certificate or Social Security card along with a drivers license or other picture I.D. or a U.S. passport or a green card. The State of Montana does not sponsor.

Successful applicants are required to successfully pass DOR tax and background check(s).

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The above competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

Bachelors degree in public administration business administration accounting or closely related field; and

Preferred work experience includes at least 2 years of experience working in the liquor distribution bureau or a similarly large distribution facility.

Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
