The Sr. Manufacturing Director/Site Leader is responsible for all aspects of Safety Quality Service Cost and People (SQSCP) performance at our new venture in Southeast Asia site. This leader will deliver exceptional manufacturing execution drive problem-solving and continuous improvement lead transformation and build an engaged high-performing workforce with a Put Patients First culture. This role works with leaders from various businesses and functions within the Asia & China Region Manufacturing and globally. The ideal candidate will lead all phases of manufacturing and technical functions to advance existing technology to produce the highest quality products driven by a work-safe and patient focused culture By leveraging the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) and fostering strong cross-functional collaboration with a range of partners from around the world this role ensures that the site is a world-class operation meeting patient needs while advancing Medtronics mission.

This position reports to the Regional Manufacturing Leader for Asia

A Day in Life:

  • Leadership & Execution: Deliver best-in-class manufacturing performance across safety quality cost and delivery. Model accountability urgency and discipline in achieving business goals.
  • Problem-Solving Excellence: Lead root cause investigations implement robust corrective actions and drive a culture of structured problem-solving (DMAIC/Lean).
  • Talent & Workforce Development: Build and develop a strong leadership pipeline; mentor managers and engineers; champion direct labor engagement to improve morale retention and performance.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement lean manufacturing GEMBA and value stream mapping to reduce waste and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration & Influence: Partner globally effectively across Strategy & Technology PMO Engineering Operations Innovation Operations Excellence Supply chain Quality and other functions to ensure flawless product launches stable operations and aligned objectives.
  • Communication & Engagement: Build trust through transparent communication with employees at all levels. Inspire teams with clarity of purpose and alignment to Medtronics mission.
  • Strategic Operations Management: Oversee budgets capacity planning and resource allocation to support growth business continuity and innovation.
  • Represent Medtronic: Bring awareness of Medtronic in the community and in professional organizations at a local or regional level.

Qualification & Experience:

Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree with 15 years of relevant experience with 10 years of manufacturing site leadership or managerial experience or advanced degree with 13 years of relevant experience with 10 years of managerial experience
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully execute a strategy
  • Plant manager experience in a large manufacturing facility
  • Breadth of background across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing and Supply Chain with demonstrated success in each area
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • DMAIC Lean / Six Sigma Certification
  • Proven track record of building organizational capability and talent
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Malay and English) and the ability to interact with all levels of employees
  • Comfortable with working across a global network managing a diverse global time zone spread of strategic partners and functional leaders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in a matrix organization
  • Communicates effectively across a global matrix environment demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and builds lasting strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Financial acumen based on a large-scale manufacturing operation
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience

Nice to Have

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in leading large-scale change management
