What you can expect:
Preferred by Nature is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist China & Asia Pacific based in China to build and drive a strong credible and proactive communications presence in China while contributing to regional and selected global initiatives. This role is established to ensure that Preferred by Natures strategy Theory of Change and impact are translated into effective locally relevant digital communications within Chinas distinct media and digital landscape and meaningfully connected to global communications efforts. This is a senior hands-on role combining strategic judgement with strong operational delivery. You will take ownership of China communications build structured and proactive planning and work closely with regional and global colleagues to strengthen visibility credibility and impact.
Working with us is never routine so in your first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
Developing and implementing a China communications and digital strategy aligned with global priorities and brand.
Owning and managing Chinas digital ecosystem including WeChat the Chinese website and other relevant platforms.
Producing and overseeing high-quality locally relevant content across text video and interactive formats.
Leading communications for China-based initiatives and contributing to selected APAC and global projects campaigns and events.
Establishing proactive planning rhythms content calendars and performance tracking.
Translating global narratives into culturally relevant China communications and ensuring China insights are reflected in global storytelling.
Collaborating closely with global and regional communications colleagues technical teams and external suppliers as needed.
Your first year with us:
Within three months you will:
Build a strong understanding of Preferred by Natures strategy Theory of Change and communications priorities.
Take ownership of existing China digital channels and establish a clear baseline of performance.
Build effective working relationships with China colleagues Global Communications and digital teams.
Within six months you will:
Develop and begin implementing a clear China communications and digital strategy.
Introduce proactive planning rhythms and content calendars for China communications.
Lead communications for priority China initiatives and begin contributing to selected APAC and global efforts.
Within twelve months you will:
Operate a coherent credible and strategically aligned China digital ecosystem.
Expand and refine China digital channels based on performance and learning.
Act as a trusted communications advisor on China-facing initiatives and selected global projects.
Important that you:
Have at least 5 years of professional communications experience based in China within an international or globally operating organisation.
Bring senior-level experience in communications and digital marketing based in China.
Have strong hands-on knowledge of Chinese digital and social media platforms.
Have experience working within international or globally operating organisations.
Are able to translate strategy into clear high-quality digital content and campaigns.
Are fluent in Chinese and English with strong cultural and contextual understanding.
Work in a structured and proactive way with confidence operating independently in a global organisation.
Would also be great but not necessary if you:
Have experience in sustainability environment agriculture forestry development or certification.
Bring strong experience in digital video planning and production.
Have worked with analytics performance tracking and insight-driven communications planning.
