Job Summary

WHAT WE DO: LoanMart provides fast professional assistance to financially stressed or credit-challenged borrowers. Our place in the community was built over twenty-five years growing from a family-owned single-store front in Van Nuys into the largest auto title lender in California.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Bankruptcy Specialist monitors in the bankruptcy process to minimize potential losses preserve the lienholders interest and ensure compliance with law.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Research accounts referred to the Legal Servicing Department for Bankruptcy Petition filing
Review and interpret Bankruptcy documents such as Petition Case filings Objections and Motion to Value Collaterals
Respond to phone calls written correspondence from all parties involved in the bankruptcy process
Review and file bankruptcy proofs of claims motions for relief and objections to claims
Coordinate and prepare referral packages for local counsel for Bankruptcy handling
Review monitor and document bankruptcy legal actions and follow up with counsel accordingly
Verify critical dates and review electronic court docket for updated case status
Work with Bankruptcy trustees respond to debtor attorneys and coordinate responses to objections to claims
Assist the in-house Legal Specialist in obtaining information needed to pursue settlement options allowed during the bankruptcy
Review and work unsecured bankruptcy accounts
May provide direction based on research

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Strong spreadsheet and web-base skills.
Detail-oriented ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
Intermediate PC skills; ability to work with multiple platforms including PACER.
Knowledge of FDCPA TCPA UDAAP in addition to other federal regulations.

HYBRID AND FULLY-REMOTE WORK-FROM-HOME REQUIREMENTS:

Reliable high-speed internet secure Wi-Fi and a stable power source to prevent disruptions.
Secure private workspace suitable for company equipment that is free of interruptions and background noise.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow all security protocols.
Ability and consent to participate in virtual meetings and remote monitoring.

Hybrid work schedule- usually three days at home (if you prefer) and two days in-office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays with some variance for training performance and month-end). Offsite Saturday shifts may be required periodically.
