Team Lead Primary Engineering

Due to an internal shift we are looking for a Team Lead Primary Engineer to join expanding our Transmission & Distribution team in Victoria. Report to the Primary Team Manager this role will lead coach and empower 5-6 engineers and technical officers alongside actively leading or supporting on energy projects.

How youll make a difference:

• Team Lead responsibility: provide day-to-day guidance to primary engineers assist with task planning and workload coordination and support the technical development of the team.
• Deliver concept and detailed design of HV primary systems and earthing systems for substation projects across transmission distribution and renewables in Australia and New Zealand.
• Support project delivery through proposal development design development technical calculations design reviews site visits and inspections and preparation of technical reports.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams in a client-facing environment contributing to coordinated design outcomes and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Provide technical input and problem-solving to ensure designs meet project timeframes quality standards and client requirements under the guidance of Principal Engineers

Qualifications :

The qualities that help you thrive:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with RPEV (or ability to obtain).
• Ideally 6 years experience in transmission and distribution primary substation design and/or utility grid connections.
• Strong technical capability in HV primary systems including cable rating earthing design lightning protection and insulation coordination studies.
• Experience using industry-standard software such as CDEGS CYMCAP PSCAD (or similar) with solid knowledge of Australian standards and codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven experience leading or contributing to large multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Prior team management experience is preferred not essential.
