$38.20 - $57.30JOB SUMMARY: Renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patient. Provides direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment planning implementation and evaluation). Directs and supervises other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards of care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Experienced Operating Room Nurse. Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
LICENSURE CERTIFICATION and/or REGISTRATION: Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care Adult ED Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED Peds ED PICU and NICU and other areas per unit guidelines
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Utilizes the Nursing Process to plan and implement in the delivery of patient care. 2. Administers medication according to policy/procedure and unit specific standards. 3. Provides patient and family education. 4. Demonstrates ability to perform CPR. 5. Serves as Preceptor (if applicable). 6. Performs pre-admission patient interview. 7. Manages care of patients receiving moderate sedation. 8. Maintains open communication. 9. Participates in professional self-development. 10. Manages fiscal responsibilities. 11. Accepts call responsibility according to policy and procedure.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task Through education experience and/or training the individual is qualified to work with patients throughout the life cycle (infant pediatric adolescent adult older adult).
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Possible exposure to infections and contagious diseases hazardous anesthetic agents body fluids and wastes Possible exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation Handles emergency or crisis situation Subject to many interruptions highly stressful and crowded/noisy conditions Required Protective Equipment: Eye/face protection gown mask and gloves
