We seek candidates who are dedicated to inclusion and have a clear interest in being part of the richness of diversity that the New Bedford Public Schools community has to Goal: To ensure the smooth safe and efficient daily operations of New Bedford High School by coordinating facilities safety logistics and operational systems in a way that maximizes instructional time supports staff effectiveness and promotes a welcoming well-organized learning environment for all RESPONSIBILITIES are included but not limited to Budget and Finance:As applicable manage school purchasing process by placing orders with vendors tracking delivery coordinating installation and support with maintaining inventoryLogistics:Management:Monitor the Frontline system for staff absences and proactively manage coverage assignments ensuring adequate supervision and minimal disruption to coverage plans clearly and in a timely manner to administrators staff and relevant Operations:-Each year prepare the NBHS campus for start-up/new school year by ensuring summer clean and waxing with custodial department ordering furniture equipment and classroom supplies as well as ensuring that school services (e.g. food services student transportation) are lined up and ready for action-Lead the operational planning and logistics for standardized testing (e.g. MCAS SAT PSAT ACCESS) including room assignments staffing coverage materials distribution and coordination with administration. -Ensure all building systems are operational and aligned to support instruction safety and testing requirements. -Work closely with the Manager of Technology to ensure instructional and operational technology systems are fully functional including testing platforms classroom technology communication systems and infrastructure. -Anticipate and troubleshoot logistical challenges to minimize disruptions to the school day.-Ensure the maintenance of campus facilities by managing custodial personnel and any third-party contracts (not managed by facilities department) for trash removal recycling large scale supply delivery Logistics & ManagementMonitor the Frontline system for staff absences and proactively manage coverage assignments ensuring adequate supervision and minimal disruption to coverage plans clearly and in a timely manner to administrators staff and relevant the operational planning and logistics for standardized testing (e.g. MCAS SAT PSAT ACCESS) including room assignments staffing coverage materials distribution and coordination with all building systems are operational and aligned to support instruction safety and testing closely with the Manager of Technology to ensure instructional and operational technology systems are fully functional including testing platforms classroom technology communication systems and and troubleshoot logistical challenges to minimize disruptions to the school systems for onboarding new staff members as it relates to: Issuing a parking pass and room keysManagement and Leadership:Directly oversees and evaluations the senior custodial managersOversees manages and evaluates the custodial team Directly oversees and evaluations the engineering teamDirectly oversees and evaluates the Food Service ManagesDirectly oversees food Service Management TeamServes as the direct lead for large scale capital construction projects onsite. Actively serves on the school leadership teamManage systems for room and school usage requests (school based and community requests) Oversees and evaluates custodial staff Oversees and evaluates the plant engineers Supervises and evaluates clerk assigned to Operations Oversees and manages food service needs Coordinates supply needs for classrooms and school copiers Coordinates shredding and surplus Coordinates school construction improvement projects Scrutinizes facility needs and makes recommendation for improvements to the Principal Liaison to the districts facilities department regarding electrical plumbing and building needs that are not managed by the school-based plant engineers Crisis Management Team Member (updates emergency operation manual and fire drill procedures) Develops implements and monitors work practices systems and methods that are effective efficient and consistent with District standards policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the PrincipalREQUIREMENTS:Bachelors Degree PreferredExperience with school building operationsExperience Organizational LeadershipExperience with state mandated testing protocols Advanced technology skills (student information systems excel security camera systems)Ability to connect operational work to academic outcomesTerms:Non-Union 12-month Year positionSALARY: $75000.00-$90000.00PHYSICAL DEMANDS (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing): Frequent fine motor use such as typing filing. Frequent standing walking sitting bending stooping as needed. May lift push pull up to 20 lbs. Travel between school locations throughout the workday as needed. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Frequent overtime or night work required etc.): May need to attend after school hours training events and/or meetings on occasion and as ELIGIBLE: NoREPORTS TO: Principal or designee
