SUMMARY
Partnerswithindividualson employment benefitsand payroll related matters;responds to andresolvesinquiriesand provides knowledgeableassistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Partners with employees students and the community as their primary resource contact; counsels on human resource and payroll related matters; responds to and resolves related questions problems andinquirieswith positiveand welcoming manner models excellent customer service standards.
Works as a collaborative member of the human resources team toidentifyandparticipateininitiatives and programs that deliver the Colleges strategic priorities.
Coordinates the campus professional development and tuition waiver programs to enhance employee skills and leadership and connect their contributions to the success of students and the College.
Managesemployment contracts in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Continuing Education.
Supports employee life cycle processes from onboarding to offboarding including benefits retirement unemployment collective bargainingandworkers compensation.
Performs payroll benefits andleaveaccrual entry into the human resources information system (HRIS).Monitors employees time byvalidation ofdata and supervisor authorizations. Ensures compliance with FLSA regulations and collective bargaining agreements;modifiessystem to reflect required updates reviews and reconciles data ensuring accuracy; provides clear and empathetic communication to employeesregardingany necessary adjustments.
Initiates communicates with andassistsemployees in the interpretation of federal or state laws human resources/payroll policies collective bargaining agreements procedures or other related changes.
Trainssupervisorsand employeesintheuse of the HRIS system; sets up records for new employees and edits existingrecordsas the integrity of the systems.
Generates various reportswithchartsand statistics in support of human resource and efficientlymaintainsrecords files reports andcontractsupdates informationaccording tosystem standards and procedures.
Compiles data and information forcompliancesuch as but not limited toauditsunemployment salary surveyscollectivebargaining theAffordable Care Act/American Health Care Act Office of Civil Rights Department of Labor Montana University System College and University Professional Association (CUPA)and public retirement systems.
Disseminates andmaintainsconfidential records.
Reviews and makes recommendations on policies and procedures;assistsin the interpretation of policy related issues and collective bargaining agreements.
Remains current in practices trends and research related to areas ofassignment.
Attends relatedtrainings workshops and professionaldevelopment.
Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff asneededmay supervise staff.
Activelyparticipatesin the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to studentsemployeesand theCollege.
Creates andmaintainsa collaborative and collegial environment andmaintainseffective working relationships.
Maintains professional ethics and confidentialityin accordance withapplicable laws andpolicies.
Advances the mission of FVCC by serving on committees and contributinginthe community in college-related activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BachelorsdegreeANDtwo years ofdirectly relatedwork experienceOR
Associates degree in related field ANDfouryearsof human resources experienceOR
An equitablecombination ofsixyears ofhigher education anddirectly relatedhuman resources/payrollworkexperience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Closely relatedwork experience inan educationalenvironmentor publicorganization.
Work experience inpublicsectorcollectivebargainingenvironment.
Work experience withhumanresourceand payrollinformation systems.
Professional level human resources certification (PHRSPHR SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP)

This is aMedium Dutyjob according to theSelected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles U.S. Department ofLaborand Dutyinvolves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 poundsfrequently and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
