Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) provides high-quality patient-centered nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment clinical monitoring medication administration and collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients
Prepare administer and accurately document prescribed medications
Perform nursing procedures including dressing changes catheter insertions and IV initiation
Operate adjust and monitor specialized medical equipment; interpret and record clinical data
Monitor vital signs and promptly identify and report adverse reactions or changes in patient condition
Collaborate with the care team on discharge planning and continuity of care
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans procedures and post-discharge care
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation charts and medical records
Adhere to evidence-based nursing practices hospital policies and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
Active New York State RN License
BLS Certification (AHA required)
