This position works under general supervision coordinates oversees and monitors activities within Fabrications.

As a Machining Team Lead at Caterpillar you will:

• Capable of learning basic CNC machining operations
• Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
• Position heavy fabricated metal components in fit-up jigs and weld fixtures utilizing overhead and jib cranes
• Use both manual and digital gages to record dimensional machining data
• Oversees the efficient operation of all machining cells
• Will be responsible for meeting performance metrics as they pertain to safety quality velocity and cost
• Coordinate oversee and monitors activities in fabrications
• Be the first point of contact for questions related to employee job functions
• Perform administrative functions and may be accountable for daily team PQVC metric boards
• Provide input on schedule/build adjustments
• Communicate with cross-functional leaders
• Trains new and develop existing employees
• Liaison between team members and section managers
• Responsible for training other team members in Standard Work Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3 years experience operating multi-axis CNCN machining centers

Physical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
• Willing and able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Top candidates will also have:

• Previous team lead or supervisory experience
• Further vocational and/or college education
• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Office
• Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
• CNC machining experience
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills as it pertains to communication and personal interaction with others.
• Advanced problem solving/troubleshooting ability and root cause corrective action
• Strong analytical skills/High attention to detail
• Strong performance ratings and excellent attendance

• This is a Varied schedule hourly position with no relocation benefits. Entry pay starts at $27.95/per hour (will include 8%-night shift premium when working 2nd or 3rd shift).
