Starrycare is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to deliver high-quality nutritious and well-presented meals across our client sites. The role involves planning preparing and cooking meals that meet dietary nutritional and cultural requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cook and present meals to a high standard
Plan menus in line with nutritional guidelines and client requirements
Ensure compliance with food safety health and hygiene regulations
Maintain a clean safe and organised kitchen environment
Manage stock levels ordering and stock rotation
Supervise and support Catering Assistants and kitchen staff
Monitor portion control and minimise food waste
Ensure correct use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery Catering or equivalent
Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (Level 3 preferred)
Knowledge of food safety HACCP and health & safety regulations
Right to work in the UK
Willingness to undergo background checks (DBS)
Requirements
Proven experience as a Chef preferably in care homes hospitals or contract catering
Ability to plan and deliver meals for large numbers
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and lead a kitchen team
Excellent attention to detail and presentation
Flexible to work shifts including weekends and holidays
