Hospital Accountant manages the financial operations of a healthcare facility including patient billing insurance claims (TPA) accounts payable/receivable payroll and statutory compliance. They prepare financial statements analyze costs (IPD/OPD/pharmacy) and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Accounts: Manage patient billing insurance claim processing and reimbursement including TPA and government schemes.
Financial Reporting: Prepare daily monthly and annual financial statements including balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Handle vendor payments procurement and monitor outstanding payments.
Payroll & Compliance: Calculate employee salaries incentives and manage taxation (TDS) and statutory compliance.
Cost Management: Monitor departmental budgets analyze medical procedure costs and assist in setting tariff rates.
Auditing: Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or Commerce.
Experience: Previous experience in healthcare hospital or clinic accounting is strongly preferred.
Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Tally SAP Oracle) and MS Excel.
Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare billing coding and medical insurance processes.
