Position Summary
The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for commissioning installing troubleshooting repairing and testing industrial equipment at customer sites and in-house. This hands-on role supports equipment wiring system testing research and development activities and technical documentation. The position works closely with Engineering to support new applications and equipment while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Once trained the technician operates with minimal supervision and provides advanced technical support in both domestic and international field service environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform high- and low-voltage equipment wiring including PLC wiring both in-house and in the field
Apply advanced wiring techniques such as cutting terminating soldering and crimping with proper selection of wire and cable types
Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Troubleshoot diagnose repair and test industrial equipment and subsystems
Commission and install equipment at customer sites
Travel to domestic and international customer locations to provide installation service and technical support
Communicate professionally with customers providing clear guidance and technical explanations
Train customers on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
Provide remote technical support using desktop and communication tools
Document technical issues solutions and service activities accurately and in a timely manner
Prepare detailed field service reports and procedural documentation
Support the rollout of new applications and equipment in collaboration with engineering teams
Adhere to all safety policies procedures and quality standards
Identify potential service opportunities including preventative maintenance needs
Participate in after-hours on-call and 24/7 service support as required
Assist in mentoring and supporting less experienced technical staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Technical Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated experience with industrial equipment wiring electrical schematics and electrical measurement instruments
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
Experience operating independently after training
Proficiency with hand tools power tools and electrical test equipment
Experience using remote desktop applications
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and general software applications
Physical and Travel Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Ability to install subsystems into process equipment and make mechanical and electrical adjustments
Ability to work in confined spaces
Valid drivers license
Valid passport or ability to obtain one immediately
Availability for frequent domestic and international travel often with minimal notice
Ability to be on call and provide 24/7 service support

Preferred / Additional Qualifications:
Five to eight or more years of experience servicing and troubleshooting industrial equipment
Technical certifications or formal technical training

Self-motivated highly organized and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities
