Description

Do you want to work in a role that is varied and contributes to development in East Sussex If so then working as a Senior Planning Officer in our Planning Policy and Development Management Team might be for you.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced planner who will deal with development management matters associated with the Councils own development (for example schools roads and libraries) and waste management/minerals extraction. The role is varied and you will be expected to deal with your own caseload and undertake pre-application advice consideration of planning applications site monitoring and enforcement. Additionally there will be opportunities for you to assist with the policy work relating to the Waste and Minerals Local Plan.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are knowledgeable and experienced in town planning and development management
  • Are able to work to deadlines
  • Have written and oral communication skills
  • Are motivated and flexible and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Have IT skills
  • Have an ability to meet the travel requirements of the post

Unless there are exceptional circumstances appointment to this role will be at grade SS9. Progression to SS10 will be dependent on the postholder meeting further requirements/responsibilities. Please refer to the job description for further details.
