Position Overview
The Senior Accountant supports Crown Power & Equipments day-to-day and long-term financial operations across multiple locations. This role handles core accounting functions including payroll tax compliance floor plan accounting fleet and fixed asset tracking and financial reporting. The position works closely with operations and leadership to ensure accurate records regulatory compliance and financial visibility that supports dealership performance in the agriculture and construction equipment industry.

Position Overview
The Senior Accountant supports Crown Power & Equipments day-to-day and long-term financial operations across multiple locations. This role handles core accounting functions including payroll tax compliance floor plan accounting fleet and fixed asset tracking and financial reporting. The position works closely with operations and leadership to ensure accurate records regulatory compliance and financial visibility that supports dealership performance in the agriculture and construction equipment industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assist with monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Manage business tax filings and exemption documentation including property tax assessments sales and use tax reporting reconciliations and timely remittance for multi-location operations
- Liaison between parent company and firm selected to conduct annual audits
- Review financial records and journal entries to ensure accuracy consistency and compliance with company policies
- Reconcile general ledger accounts across departments and locations ensuring proper expense allocation
- Oversee floor plan financing activity including reconciliations interest tracking curtailments and lender reporting
- Maintain accurate records for fleet and fixed assets including equipment vehicles and leased assets; track additions disposals depreciation and transfers between locations
- Track and analyze fleet costs utilization and asset lifecycle data to support operational decision-making
- Support internal external and lender audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Maintain W-9 files and assist with annual compliance reviews
- Provide support to Accounts Receivable as needed including review of aging reports and bad debt analysis
- Identify process improvements that enhance accuracy efficiency and internal controls
- Process bi-weekly payroll and prepare all required supporting reports including federal and state filings W-2s and 1099s
- Partner with Human Resources and department leaders to maintain accurate payroll records job classifications and employee data
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications & Competencies
- Strong foundation in financial accounting and cost accounting principles
- Experience working with floor plan lenders tax filings and multi-location accounting structures
- Proven experience applying General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with dealership operations particularly within agriculture or construction equipment environments
- Working knowledge of floor plan accounting sales tax and use tax compliance
- Familiarity with fixed asset fleet and inventory-related accounting
- High level of accuracy with a proactive approach to identifying discrepancies
- Comfort working in accounting systems and dealership management software
- Advanced Excel skills including reporting reconciliation and analysis
- Clear and professional communication skills both written and verbal
- Organized self-directed and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Willingness to adapt and learn new systems and processes as the business evolves
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience in a dealership equipment or asset-intensive business strongly preferred
- Equivalent education and experience will be considered
Physical Demands & Travel Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods and frequent use of hands to type handle documents and operate standard office equipment while occasionally required to stand walk climb stairs reach with hands and arms or lift items weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision color vision and the ability to adjust focus especially when working with computer screens and printed materials.
- This position may occasionally require minimal travel to attend meetings training or other business-related events.
