Job Summary
Position Summary: Own and improve the reliability of production equipment by troubleshooting and sustaining electromechanical controls and firmware-adjacent systems across OPTs manufacturing floor.
Essential Functions:
- Own sustaining engineering for production equipment with a focus on uptime safety and repeatability
- Maintain and improve electrical mechanical and optical systems across existing manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Update equipment documentation training and maintenance procedures to prevent recurrence
- Design maintain and improve wiring controls and automation systems for printers and manufacturing equipment
- Support integration and replacement of motors sensors actuators and controllers as part of sustaining upgrades
- Support troubleshooting and urgent production issues on aggressive timelines
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3 years supporting production or 3D printing equipment in a sustaining controls or manufacturing engineering role
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electromechanical systems
- Basic to intermediate experience with firmware or embedded systems used in production equipment
- Experience in robotics or motion-control systems (servo drives encoders coordinated motion)
- Proven experience performing root-cause analysis and implementing preventative fixes
- Comfortable owning equipment uptime and responding to production downtime under pressure
- Ability to document fixes improve procedures and train operators and technicians
