Job Purpose: This role will analyze deal profitability across the Sony Music Publishing catalog and identify best practices to replicate and enhance profitability. By utilizing both internal and third-party data the Manager will provide strategic profitability analysis and drive improvement and insight throughout the organization.

What Youll Do:

  • Leverage warehoused data and business intelligence platforms to generate comprehensive reports on royalty and investment metrics for stakeholders.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with information technology teams to design and implement systematic profitability tracking solutions.

  • Develop and present profitability analyses by genre and country; facilitate discussions with stakeholders to support investment portfolio management and provide insight into recent activities.

  • Monitor global investment portfolio performance across genres and country for Sony Group Corporation reporting requirements.

  • Maintain a database of global deal structures terms and underlying growth assumptions; communicate evolving market conditions to stakeholders.

  • Conduct post-investment reviews of major acquisitions for reporting to Sony Group Corporation.

  • Evaluate deals with the highest outstanding advance balances and commitments in collaboration with stakeholders.

  • Prepare or contribute to special projects as required.

Who You Are:

  • 5 or more years of music industry-related experience or similar experience in finance-related fields

  • BS/BA degree in Music Business Business Administration Finance or related field

  • Must be aligned with Sonys Values and Purpose

  • You use communication and presentation skills to engage inspire and influence all levels of management and employees

  • You can work independently maintain reporting schedule and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • You understand copyright financial and administrative concepts within music publishing preferred

  • You proactively engage with data to anticipate potential opportunities and areas of concern

  • Established problem-solving skills and ability to apply them within various technology applications

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel including experience with data analysis and modeling required

  • Advanced proficiency with query-building language (e.g. SQL) programming language (e.g. Python) and business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) strongly considered

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters

  • Irregular work schedule may be required

$73758.00-$105369.00
