Job Summary

Animas High School Teacher-MathAt Animas High School teachers provide instruction through project-based learning by working closely with their grade level teams to provide high-quality instruction and interdisciplinary opportunities. Math teacher with a strong background in inquiry-based instruction preferably versed in the Interactive Mathematics Program (IMP Core Math). The ideal candidate is skilled in facilitating student-centered investigations and guiding collaborative group work and mathematical discourse. They use rich tasks multiple representations and real-world contexts to help students build deep conceptual understanding. A commitment to equity differentiation and fostering a growth mindset is essential. Experience teaching high school level math and an undergraduate background in mathematics are strongly preferred. Additionally candidates will be expected to be able to collaborate across disciplines to foster project based learning. Animas teachers are empowered to build their own curriculum so the capacity and desire to do so is Summary:Animas High School is a charter High School in Durango Colorado authorized through the Colorado Charter School Institute. AHS instructional design emphasizes hands-on project-based learning with adult-world connections. AHS is accepting applications for the 2026/2027 school year and preliminary interviews begin in early Spring.
