The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road Woolloongabba Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with Department of Transport and Main Road. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

The Creative Lead is a self-sufficient senior creative specialist responsible for independently driving the end-to-end creative process from concept development through to delivery and quality assurance. The role provides strategic creative direction and develops visual stories across campaigns public-facing information and stakeholder engagement materials.

With advanced video and multimedia capability the role delivers filmed animated and motion graphic content managing production from on-site capture through to editing motion design and post-production. The role independently manages complex multimedia projects ensuring outputs are optimised accessible and fit for purpose across platforms and formats.

The Creative Lead owns the organisational creative lifecycle setting creative direction and ensuring all outputs align with organisational priorities and brand intent. Due to the nature of content capture and production the role will at times require work outside normal business hours including early starts late finishes and weekend work. Based at our corporate head office in the heart of Brisbanes CBD with flexible work options this opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract until March 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end creative process from concept development through to delivery and quality assurance
  • Develop creative strategies that translate complex information into clear engaging visual communication across campaigns public facing information and stakeholder engagement materials
  • Develop bespoke creative concepts by critically interpreting briefs audience requirements and organisational objectives
  • Independently deliver high-quality multimedia content including filmed animated and motion graphic content managing all stages of production including on-site capture storyboarding editing motion design and post-production
  • Manage creative approval pathways proactively engaging stakeholders addressing feedback resolving issues and securing timely endorsement of outputs.
  • Manage complex multimedia workflows ensuring outputs are accessible brand-compliant and optimised across platforms and formats
  • Provide authoritative specialist advice on visual communication channel selection message hierarchy and audience impact
  • Provide expert direction to external creative partners reviewing concepts and endorsing final outputs
  • Identify and implement improvements to creative practice tools and workflows to lift organisational capability and efficiency

About You:

  • Senior-level strategic creative thinking with a proven ability to translate complex information into high-impact visual communication aligned to organisation objectives.
  • Advanced technical capability in design video and multimedia production to independently deliver complex engaging public-facing content across multiple platforms and formats.
  • Exercises sound professional judgement operating with a high level of autonomy to manage ambiguity creative risk approval pathways and reputational impact.
  • Experience leading complex project and approval management by planning and coordinating creative workflows priorities and stakeholder approvals across competing deadlines.
  • Uses stakeholder influence and advisory capability to provide authoritative specialist advice that shapes creative direction communication approaches and outcomes.
  • Ensures quality and governance requirements are met through rigorous assurance while maintaining effective brand stewardship across all creative outputs
  • A track record of introducing new creative approaches tools or ways of working that improve impact and efficiency
