Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Perform welding on mild steel carbon steel and structural steel using processes such as SMAW FCAW or GMAW as per project requirements.
Interpret engineering drawings isometric sketches and welding symbols accurately.
Prepare welding joints through grinding cleaning and fit-up prior to welding.
Ensure welding work meets required standards tolerances and visual quality.
Carry out multi-pass welding in various positions (1G4G) depending on job requirements.
Follow approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and maintain proper heat input control.
Conduct visual self-inspection and coordinate with QC inspectors for final approval.
Handle and maintain welding machines cables and equipment properly.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
ITI / Diploma in Welding / Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
Minimum 35 years of experience in steel welding in shipyard offshore or heavy fabrication environments.
Certified by a recognized authority (ABS / BV / DNV / LR / TPI agency) preferred.
Knowledge of ASME Section IX / AWS D1.1 / ISO 9606 welding codes.
Basic understanding of material types joint preparation and distortion control.
Offshore medical and BOSIET / HUET certification (preferred for offshore assignments).
Required Skills:
