To learn more about MLKCSE please visit our website at: DescriptionA teacher at MLKCSE holds primary responsibility and ownership for the instructional planning and execution of the curriculum and monitors the growth and success of their students. The structure of each grade level team varies but our class sizes are consistently around 20 students capped at 22 students. All grades are self-contained and are responsible for all core subjects as well as small group intervention. We have a co-teaching model in Kindergarten and First Grade and in grades 2-5 instructional paraprofessionals are assigned based on needs of the class. We are a full inclusion school and as such Special Educators provide both push in support during core academic blocks and pull out instruction during intervention daily attendanceManage student breakfast in the classroomThoughtfully plan refine and/or supplement our core curricular resourcesProvision for and deliver dynamic and creative instruction that is high quality engaging and aligned to MLKCSE curricular guidance Common Core State Standards and Massachusetts FrameworksMaintain grading of students in a timely mannerCollaborate with Special Educators ESL Educators and Instructional Leaders to ensure students receive the necessary targeted interventions and supportParticipate in required collaborative curriculum development grade-level activities meetings professional development and school-wide functionsAdminister a variety of assessments record and submit data address findings and integrate use of data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices and interventionsParticipate in regular interim data meetings with grade level team teachers and instructional leadershipIdentify students who are not meeting benchmarks and plan appropriate interventions tiered small group and/or one-on-one targeted intervention and support to studentsUphold our schools values school-wide key systems and accountability systems for academics and characterProvide consistent and high academic and behavioral expectationsCommunicate clearly effectively and professionally with students families and colleagues regularlyConsistently meet our school expectations for professionalism and fulfill required responsibilities in a timely and professional mannerFulfill other duties as assignedReports to Academic Director or Executive DirectorRequired QualificationsBachelors DegreePreliminary MA teaching certification or working toward earning MA teaching certificationSEI or RETELL endorsementPreferred QualificationsExperience preferred particularly in an urban settingBilingual (Spanish) candidates encouraged to applyEqual Opportunity EmployerMLKCSE is committed to ensuring that all of its programs and facilities are accessible to all members of the public and free from discrimination on the basis of race color religion national origin pregnancy gender identity sexual orientation marital/civil union status ancestry place of birth age citizenship status veteran status political affiliation genetic information or disability as defined and required by state and federal laws.
