Dual Credit Coordinator Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of the Vice President of Dual Enrollment the DC Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment activities orientation sessions campus tours admissions academic advising and registration for Ranger College.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will:
- Employ technology and strategies to help dual credit students navigate through the enrollment and registration process
- Work with the Assistant Director and ISD personnel to develop strategic outreach and follow-up plans for dual credit students
- Contact dual credit students to complete admissions and enrollment requirements
- Assist students with admission and records documents such as change of major application for diploma and change of information for Ranger College.
- Ensure students have a plan to pay
- Track and monitor student progress on the roster via case management
- Follow communication plan to keep student momentum moving assisting students as needed to overcome enrollment obstacles
- Provide timely responses to emails and phone calls
- Clearly communicate enrollment requirements and refer to resources as needed to ensure student success
- Gather the appropriate documents for dual credit students who are in need of educational accommodation and refer those students to the Ranger College counselor
- Create or update dual credit student files and ensure all required enrollment documents are received.
- Organize Alphabetize all enrollment documents for enrollment purposes
- Assist with dual credit enrollment each semester.
- Receive students transcripts from other colleges; examine transcripts of courses and forward to the registrars office to determine which courses will be accepted routinely for transfer credit and which courses may articulate into other courses for institutional credit for Ranger College.
- Provide advising services to dual credit students by case management
- Maintain a demeanor of service professionalism and positivity at all times
- Strive to meet enrollment goals and transition rates
- Utilize mass communication (SMS texting programs email and phone)
- Participate in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests
- Support the mission vision and values of the College and attend College events and meetings
- Develop and demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- ApplyTexas application
- Bacterial meningitis requirements
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirement
- Engagement
- Interpersonal skills
- Be well-informed on all Ranger College dual credit programs and offerings
- Develop implement and evaluate transition strategies for dual credit high school graduates
- Establish and maintain relationships with area school districts; foster strong relationships between the college and area high school counselors
- Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with he Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) for students at Ranger College
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus
- This position may require occasional travel for training meetings and events both in and out of town
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
- Use of manual dexterity
- The person in this position frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Duties indoors and some outdoors
- Office environment
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Ranger College or community events
- Other Job related duties as assigned
Qualifications (Required)
- Associates degree (or equivalent; 60 college credit hours) with two years of experience working in an educational setting. Previous work experience will be considered as well.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the Colleges mission and the needs of students and a passion for helping students realize their educational goals
- Demonstrated ability to use technology in the application and enrollment navigation process
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively with multiple priorities
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate
- Excellent record-keeping skills
- Ability to take feedback from manager through coaching sessions and then generate positive results
- Exemplary computer proficiency including email internet and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong public relations skills including excellent presentation skills
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Customer-service oriented
- Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License good driving record and be insurable on Ranger Colleges insurance policy
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Bachelors degree or Associates degree (or equivalent; 60 college credit hours) with two years of experience working in an educational setting. Previous work experience within a post-secondary institution will be considered as well.
- Prior experience working in an educational setting
- General knowledge of Ranger Colleges application and enrollment processes
- Previous higher education student services experience and/or case management experience
- Bilingual language skills
