to support the Registrar of Voters upcoming June 2 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election.

Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday including weekends and holidays with mandatory overtime.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • FRONT COUNTER CUSTOMER SERVICE/RUNNERS:Strong Customer Service Skills Required. Primary duties include vote-by-mail processing with a high level of attention to detail front counter customer service (assisting voters) managing traffic flow standing for extended periods and performing other duties as needed.

  • DATA ENTRY/PHONES: Strong Customer Service Skills Required. Primary responsibilities include entering registration card information and answering incoming phone calls. Expected to communicate election-related information clearly accurately and professionally to voters and members of the public.

  • BALLOT COLLECTION: Primary duties will include providing support with Ballot Box Drop off locations throughout Riverside County. Must possess a valid California Drivers license and be willing to use personal vehicle for arriving at assigned locations. Mileage reimbursement provided.

  • VOTE CENTER STAFF: TEAs will provide support with Vote Center Site Lead and Assistant Lead Coverage as well as providing support to Ballot Box Drop Off Locations throughout Riverside County. Leading a Team in all aspects of processing voters time and volunteer management problem solving closing procedures. All candidates must attend a five week Training Academy.

  • POLL CALL CENTER STAFF: Strong Customer Service Skills Required. TEAs will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of up to 1000 volunteers.
    The role involves maintaining and updating reports accurately entering notes and records into the database and assisting with pre- and post-election administrative and operational duties. The position also requires answering volunteer questions by phone providing timely and helpful resolutions when possible and escalating issues to supervisors as appropriate.

  • VOTE CENTER SURVEY STAFF: Ability to frequently lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to lift and move equipment throughout the warehouse. TEAs will be responsible for assisting with conducting Vote Center Site Accessibility Surveys and identifying potential sites for Vote Centers. Maintain reports and assist with pre- and post-election duties.
  • WAREHOUSE:The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and to stand walk bend and perform physical tasks for extended periods in warehouse office and outdoor environments including varying weather conditions. Duties include assisting with warehouse operations such as preparing staging loading unloading storing and distributing election materials and voting equipment; performing mail preparation pickup and delivery; programming testing and preparing electronic voting equipment; and assisting with pre- and post-election activities. The role supports Vote Center and Vote-by-Mail (VBM) operations by coordinating facilities through phone email and in-person outreach conducting facility canvassing and accessibility surveys preparing Vote Center supply sets staffing ballot drop box locations securely collecting and transporting ballots verifying documentation entering data into tracking systems and maintaining strict compliance with ballot handling security and chain-of-custody procedures. The position also requires providing professional courteous customer service to voters and the public; maintaining accurate records and reports; following written and oral instructions; working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills; and adapting to changing duties and schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel and PowerPoint) a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record the ability to travel to multiple work sites and availability to work flexible hours including early mornings evenings weekends and extended shifts are required.

  • WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS:Frequently lift up to 30 lbs. Must be able to lift and move equipment throughout the warehouse. Must be able to utilize basic warehouse equipment after training. Ability to stand or sit for long periods. Strong verbal and written communication skills ability to provide professional instructions via phone or in-person communication. Performs various support duties for Warehouse Operations including; mail preparation pickup/delivery programming of electronic voting equipment preparing Vote Center Supply sets document storage document proofing equipment preparation and storage and performs other related duties as required. Expected to perform basic and routine duties where the majority of the duties can be learned in a brief period of time. Strong data entry skills basic knowledge with computers and printers experience driving box trucks cargo vans or large vehicles. Ability to adapt to myriad projects and diverse work environments. Work interdependently and as part of a team. Adapt to changing work schedule. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy with projects of various nature. High level data and document review skills. Ability to maintain professional interaction with members of the public and inter-departmental staff.

  • BALLOT COUNTING:Being able to stand and operate ballot counting equipment for extended periods of time (6-8 hours per day) lift 10 pounds of ballots repeatedly.

  • BALLOT SLICING/OPENING:Opening vote-by-mail envelopes and extracting ballots and/or assisting with the slicing process. This is a fast-paced environment moving boxes and envelopes and operating ballot extraction machinery.

  • BALLOT SORTERS:Sorting vote-by-mail envelopes operating mail sorting equipment. This is a fast-paced environment regular standing and requires some lifting.

  • BALLOT STAGING: Unfolding vote-by-mail ballots and prepping them for ballot counting.

  • PARKING LOT: Requires standing all day. Will work within the provided EZ Up shelters collecting ballots from voters driving through the parking lot.

  • TRAFFIC CONTROL:Long periods of standing and working outdoors are required. While TEAs may have limited opportunities to sit when rotating with other employees this assignment is primarily standing. TEAs will provide support to Vote-by-Mail Drop Off and In-Person Voter Traffic Control. Main duties include: directing vehicles to correct drive-thru monitoring ballot boxes stationed outside collecting ballots from voters in vehicles.

  • VERIFICATION and DUPLICATING BALLOTS:Duties include vote-by-mail verification and duplicating ballots. Candidates must be detail-oriented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: None

Knowledge: Perform routine clerical work; learn office practices procedures and equipment; make simple arithmetic calculations; understand and follow written and oral instructions; establish and maintain cooperative relations with the public.

Ability to: Perform general clerical work; Understand and follow both written and oral instructions as well as established policies and procedures; Perform non-sedentary duties; Regularly lift over 25 pounds; Work in a fast-paced environment

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Drivers License may be required.
