The HRIS Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department including verifying information before it is entered into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) ensuring files are uploaded to the HRIS file management system and performing various other administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the HRIS team.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the accurate and timely data entry of Association-wide employee data into HRIS during peak periods
  • Check that submission include the appropriate documentation and follow up with supervisors as needed
  • Assist with the auditing and submission of payroll audit reports ensuring accuracy identifying errors or incomplete data
  • Provide administrative support to HR team related to HR initiatives
  • Support the maintenance of the employee file management system in the HRIS by reviewing and uploading documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

      You bring:

      Canada Summer Jobs Criteria:

      • Are between 15 to 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
      • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
      • It is a funding requirement of this position that candidates must be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

      Other Qualifications:

      • One-year relevant work experience
      • Completion of some post-secondary courses in related field preferred
      • Knowledge or previous experience using a data base and maintaining integrity of the data and system
      • Excellent organizational and time management skills coupled with a heightened awareness of the importance of attention to detail required for employee data
      • Proficiency using Microsoft Office including Word Excel Outlook
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality; discretion
      • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members staff and volunteers
      • Excellent written communication skills
      • Commitment to diversity equity inclusion and building a sense of belonging
