Ralph Sellers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Accountant to join our team in Gonzales this role you will be responsible for managing the financial records and accounting operations specific to the automotive industry ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. You will play a key role in supporting the dealerships financial health through meticulous bookkeeping reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple companies to ensure accurate financial records
- Accurately enter and reconcile monthly non-vehicle account statements for three manufacturers
- Maintain detailed accounting schedules by verifying and posting account transactions
- Manage and balance daily cash clearing to ensure accurate cash flow tracking
- Actively participate in cross-training with other members of the accounting team to enhance knowledge and skills
- Reconcile monthly Floorplan Holdback and Flooring Assistance statements with precision
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to maintain financial accuracy
- Finalize retail wholesale and dealer trade deals to ensure accurate and timely sales recording
- Manage used vehicle purchases and dealer trades efficiently to support inventory and sales operations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support audit preparations
- Monitor inventory accounting vehicle sales and service departments to ensure proper financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with dealership policies tax regulations and accounting standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as an accountant preferably within the automotive industry or a similar field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles tax regulations and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office SuiteExcel in particular.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- A degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is preferred.

Qualifications:
- 5 years automotive accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of dealership deal processing and compliance
- Proficient with CDK/ADP dealership software
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
