JOB DESCRIPTION
FABRICATOR TIER 2
The Tier 2 Fabricator is a skilled technician with working experience in trailer fabrication welding and customization. This role is responsible for independently completing common fabrication and repair tasks while supporting and training Tier 3 helpers and collaborating with Tier 3 Fabricators on complex jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform MIG/TIG stick welding and cutting with minimal supervision
Fabricate and assemble jobs based on blueprints or design documents provided
Read and interpret basic blueprints drawings and measurements
Operate shop equipment including welders cutting torches grinders plasma cutters and saws
Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards
Train and mentor Tier 1 helpers on shop procedures and safe tool use
Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on jobs
Assist Tier 2 and Tier 3 Fabricators with preparation setup and cleanup of jobs
Perform job related tasks such as grinding sanding cutting and material handling
Problem solve and create a plan of action for all jobs
Follow checklists and protocols while performing work
Regularly clean and maintain tools and equipment
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and shop areas
Support coworkers able to work as part of a team and get along with co-workers
Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines as well as common sense safety practices
Mechanic Behavioral and Knowledge-Based Requirements and Qualifications
Must be able to read and write in English in order to understand blueprints and design documents
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Vocational/ Trade-School certification preferred
Tier 3 Fabricator requires 5 years of experience
Tier 2 Fabricator requires 2-4 years of welding and fabrication experience
Tier 1 Fabricator requires 0 years of experience. Entry level team member.
Proficiency in welding (MIG required TIG preferred)
Able to pass pre-employment knowledge or skill testing designed to determine probability of success on the job and mechanic classification
Able to pass background check

Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills
Mechanic Physical Requirements
Able to pass drug test
Able to be pass medical physical exam
Able to work in uncomfortable conditions (heat cold small spaces)
Able to work in physically demanding positions
Able to stand on ones feet for prolonged periods
Lift push or pull 50 pounds at a time
Able to scale ladders or other means of access to trailer roof or interior
