A General Manager for an Automobile Service Centeroversees all operations focusing on profitability customer satisfaction and efficiency by managing staff (hiring training) finances inventory daily workflow and ensuring high-quality compliant repairs bridging service/sales and implementing strategic growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Direct daily workshop operations ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and legal regulations.
- Manage service scheduling workflow and resource allocation (technicians equipment).
- Maintain facility cleanliness safety and equipment functionality.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage departmental budgets control costs and monitor expenditures.
- Review financial forecasts and performance with accounting staff.
- Strategize to increase key metrics like Hours Per Repair Order (H/RO).
- Customer Experience:
- Ensure excellent customer service handle complaints and build lasting customer relationships.
- Monitor customer feedback to improve satisfaction ratings.
- Team Leadership:
- Hire train motivate and conduct performance reviews for service department staff (technicians advisors parts).
- Develop talent and foster a positive productive work environment.
- Inventory & Parts:
- Oversee parts inventory ordering and supply chain coordination.
- Strategic Growth:
- Implement strategies to boost productivity sales (service-to-sales) and customer retention.
- Plan promotions and events to drive business.
