Job Summary
Amazon MGM Studios is home to award-winning television series including Wednesday The Handmaids Tale Fargo Vikings Survivor The Voice Fallout The Rings of Power Reacher The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel The Boys and Jack Ryan. The Television Accounting team is responsible for the accounting and reporting related to the development production acquisition licensing and distribution of television content. This role will primarily support accounting activities for the television distribution and licensing business.
The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals sound business judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced global environment. This individual will think both strategically and tactically partner cross-functionally and influence senior business leaders through clear communication analytical rigor and well-reasoned recommendations.
Key job responsibilities
Own the monthly close process including preparing journal entries analyzing and explaining variances and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management
Review licensing agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606 and process agreements through the rights management system
Research technical accounting guidance and prepare internal technical accounting memoranda as needed
Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Finance Production Tax and Sales to ensure alignment and effective information flow
Ensure compliance with accounting policies procedures and internal controls
Evaluate existing processes and recommend develop and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Review and analyze reporting packages from foreign subsidiaries
Build trust and credibility with senior leadership through clear concise communication
- 3 years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
- Experience in identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- Experience operating in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
- Effective verbal and written communication
- CPA
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
- SAP experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
