Reports to: School Director & Managing Director of School
Classification: Part-time non-exempt
Part-time Pay Range: $31824$36504 (annualized)
Stipend for Adult Concert: $2000 for direction of the annual concert
Location: 100% In Person - NW Washington DC

Scope:
The Adult Program Head at The Washington School of Ballet (TWSB) oversees artistic components of the adult programs in collaboration with the School Director. This includes appropriate syllabus faculty management program communications and program presentations or addition the Adult Program Head conducts faculty reviews creates new programming or adjusts existing program offerings as is fiscally responsible in collaboration with the Managing Director. The Adult Program Head reports directly to the School Director and the Managing Director. The Adult Program Head works in collaboration with Community Engagement on cross-program needs and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Represent a positive image and collaborates with all The Washington Ballet (TWB) and TWSB constituents within and outside the organization
- Teach within the Adult Program 6 hours per week. Additional class hours are paid at a separate hourly rate.
- Administer programs for 12 hours per week at $25-$30/hr.
- Manage and direct Adult Program performances and showings including the annual Adult Concert. Participation as a choreographer would be paid separately at the Adult Concert rate.
- Works collaboratively and effectively with other School leadership
- Help foster a positive student and faculty experience
- Development of new programing with the School Director and Managing Director of the School
- Producing seasonal program schedules faculty schedules maintain faculty contact lists and provide faculty scheduling support for the Adult program with School Administration.
- Manage substitute lists and manage the scheduling of substitute faculty for the program
- Recruit and hire faculty on behalf of the TWSB Adult Program
- Direct program communications and provide content for the creation of communications in collaboration with TWB marketing staff.
- Provide Faculty annual training and reviews in coordination with School Director
- Observe all Adult Program classes
- Be available weekends and evenings as required
- Provide support such as Dance for All offerings as necessary to Community Engagement programs in coordination with the School Director
- Attend meetings as required

Qualifications - Education and Experience
- Advanced knowledge and experience with classical ballet pedagogy
- Advanced knowledge and experience with another genre of concert dance pedagogy
